Home visits

Some sessions can happen at your home.

A home visit brings the session to you, at your home in London or Surrey, priced for your circumstances. Other sessions can run online by video call anywhere in the UK.

How home visits work

Do you offer exercise sessions at home?

Yes. A home visit is a single one-to-one appointment at your own home in London or Surrey, arranged directly with Piotr, who agrees the date and time with you himself. The price depends on where you live and what you need, so Piotr agrees it with you first. You can mix home visits with online appointments by video call anywhere in the UK, and move between the two as suits you.

Piotr Kardas brings one-to-one specialist exercise rehabilitation into your own home, for men living with or beyond prostate cancer, in London and Surrey, arranged with him. It is the same careful work he delivers online by video call, adapted to the space you have.

01

Raise it at your consultation

Tell Piotr where you live and what would make travel hard. He will say plainly whether a visit to you can be agreed.

02

Agree the visit

Piotr settles the timing and the travel with you before anything is booked, so you know what has been agreed and what has not.

03

Fit it around you

A home visit is a single appointment, priced for your circumstances. You can have one at the start, or whenever it helps, and carry on online in between.

Why a visit at home

On the hardest weeks, travel is the part that stops men.

A visit at home takes the travel, the unfamiliar space, and the waiting room out of it, and leaves just you, Piotr, and time that fits how you feel.

  • Fatigue from hormone therapy can make travel feel like too much
  • Recovery after surgery can keep you close to home
  • Some men prefer the privacy of their own place
  • A session in your own space can be easier to keep to on a hard week

A home visit and your online appointments follow one plan, so you can move between the two as suits you. Home visits are priced separately, for your circumstances.

Trust and safeguards

Check the details before anyone comes to your home.

Bringing someone into your home is a matter of trust, and you are entitled to check the details first. You are welcome to raise any of these at your consultation, before you book a visit.

Insurance and checks

Ask Piotr about insurance and background checks for home visits, and he will talk you through the arrangements before your first session.

Someone with you

You are always welcome to have a partner, family member, or friend in the room. Ask if you would like this noted in advance.

Professional registers

Ask which professional registers Piotr is listed on, and he will point you to them.

Piotr is a Prostate Cancer Exercise Specialist, Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist. Piotr delivers specialist exercise rehabilitation for men with prostate cancer, at a world-leading NHS cancer centre, as a clinical exercise physiologist. You can read more about his background and experience on the About Piotr page.

Inside a home visit

What happens when Piotr comes to you?

An agreed home visit brings the same one-to-one session Piotr runs online by video call into your living room or garden. Each visit runs for around an hour, and he builds it around your treatment, your energy that day, and what your home allows.

Every visit starts with a check-in. Piotr asks how you are feeling, how you slept, and where your energy is, and the plan flexes to match. You work through movements chosen for you, drawing on adapted methods that need little space: Pilates, Tai Chi, Qigong, gentle resistance work, and light aerobic movement. Over time, resistance and strength work usually become the core of the programme.

"Offer people who are starting or having androgen deprivation therapy supervised resistance and aerobic exercise at least twice a week for 12 weeks to reduce fatigue and improve quality of life."
NICE guideline NG131, recommendation 1.4.19

NICE recommends supervised resistance and aerobic exercise at least twice a week for 12 weeks for people starting or having hormone therapy. How often you see Piotr is agreed with you at the consultation, and he can advise on exercise between appointments.

You can read the plain-English version on the NICE exercise guideline page.

Questions about home visits.

Do you offer exercise sessions at home?+

Yes. A home visit is a single appointment at your home in London or Surrey, arranged directly with Piotr after your paid 15-minute consultation. It is priced for your circumstances. Other appointments can run online by video call anywhere in the UK, and you can move between the two as suits you.

Where can a home visit happen?+

Home visits are in London and Surrey. Because Piotr travels to you, what he can reach depends on the day and the diary, so he settles the location, the timing and the travel with you at your paid 15-minute consultation. If a visit is not practical for where you live, your sessions run online by video call anywhere in the UK.

Do I need equipment or much space at home?+

No. A home visit draws on adapted methods that need little room, and Piotr works with the space you have and any simple equipment you already own. There is no minimum level of fitness to start.

Is it safe to exercise at home with prostate cancer?+

That depends on your own situation, so the first step is clinical clearance from your care team. With that in place, Piotr keeps every session one-to-one, adjusts it to how you feel, and eases back the moment anything feels off. Supervised exercise has been shown to reduce fatigue and improve quality of life for men on hormone therapy (NICE NG131). Always consult your oncologist or consultant before beginning any exercise programme.

How is it paid for?+

You start with a paid 15-minute video consultation. If you decide to go on, Piotr agrees the price of a home visit with you, based on where you live and what you need, and sends you a secure payment link. There are no packages, no subscription and no recurring charge. The other options and their prices are set out on the Programme page.
