This Cookie Policy explains how Piotr Kardas, a sole trader trading as HealthySwitch.Me ("we", "us", "our"), uses cookies and similar technologies on healthyswitch.me (the "Website"), what those technologies do, and how you can control them.
This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains more fully how we handle your personal information and the rights you have over it. Where a cookie collects information that identifies you, that information is also personal information and is governed by the Privacy Policy.
We know that some visitors to this Website are living with, or have been treated for, prostate cancer. We want to be clear about one thing from the outset: we do not use cookies or similar technologies to advertise to you, or to build advertising audiences, based on health conditions, medical history, or any other sensitive information about you. Section 4 explains this in more detail.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
1.1 A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit. When you return, the website can read that file to recognise your device, remember your settings, or keep your visit joined up from page to page.
1.2 "Similar technologies" means other methods that store information on, or read information from, your device for comparable purposes. These include pixels (also called tags or beacons), software development kits, and local storage. In this policy, references to "cookies" include these similar technologies unless we say otherwise.
1.3 Cookies may be:
- First-party cookies, set by this Website, or third-party cookies, set by another organisation whose service we use.
- Session cookies, deleted automatically when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which remain on your device for a set period, or until you delete them.
2. Our approach in short
2.1 The law that governs cookies in the United Kingdom is the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 ("PECR"), as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, read together with the UK GDPR. It allows cookies that are strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for without your consent, and requires your consent for everything else.
2.2 In plain terms, this is what we do:
- This Website uses two categories of cookie, and only two. Strictly necessary cookies keep your visit joined up from page to page, keep the Website secure, remember that you have signed in where a part of the site is private, and remember the choice you make below. They are always on, because the Website cannot work without them. Analytics cookies are set only if you choose to allow them.
- Analytics cookies stay off until you say yes. The first time you visit, a small strip at the foot of the page offers two choices, "Accept analytics" and "Essential only". Nothing in the analytics category is loaded or set before you choose. Choosing "Essential only", or simply pressing the Escape key, leaves the Website running on strictly necessary cookies alone, and everything on it still works.
- We use no advertising cookies and no third-party marketing cookies. Nothing on this Website builds an advertising audience, follows you to other websites, or lets an advertising platform know that you visited.
- Your choice is remembered for 180 days, and you can change it whenever you like using the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page. Section 6 explains this.
2.3 The two analytics tools we use, if you allow them, are Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity. They tell us which pages are read, and where people give up or get stuck, so that we can make the writing better. They are never used to advertise to you and never used to build an audience. Section 3 sets out exactly what they store, and section 4 explains the limits we place on them.
2.4 The Website is hosted on the Wix platform, and some of the cookies described in section 3 are set by Wix rather than by us. We hold the consent setting for this site to essential only for every visitor, whatever you choose in the cookie strip, which is what holds the Wix platform's own measurement scripts back. Section 3 lists them honestly.
3. The cookies used on this Website
3.1 The table below lists what actually loads on this Website today. Cookie names and durations are set by the platform and can change when a provider updates its technology, so you can always inspect the live list in your browser (most browsers show it under a padlock icon in the address bar, or in the privacy or security section of the settings).
| Cookie or script | Set by | What it does | Category |
|---|---|---|---|
wixSession | Wix, the platform that hosts this Website | Keeps your visit joined up as you move between pages, and supports security and load balancing. | Strictly necessary |
bSession | Wix | Identifies a single browsing session so that the platform can serve pages correctly and diagnose faults. Wix also uses this session identifier for its own platform measurement, described in 3.2. | Strictly necessary, and platform measurement (see 3.2) |
client-session-bind | Wix | Ties a browser session to the platform session for security, so that a session cannot be picked up by another device. | Strictly necessary |
| Wix consent-policy script | Wix | Applies the consent settings for this site. The setting is essential only for every visitor. Your own choice is kept in our cookie hsm_consent, not with the platform. | Strictly necessary |
| Wix site-analytics and business-intelligence scripts | Wix | Ship with the Wix platform. They report to Wix how its own platform is performing and how its hosted pages are being served. We hold the site's consent setting to essential only for every visitor, which is what restrains them. We do not receive reports about you from them, and we do not use them to measure or profile visitors. | Platform measurement (see 3.2) |
hsm_admin | This Website | Keeps someone we have given access to the private administration area signed in. It holds their name, email address and Google account identifier, signed, so that any change to it is detected and refused. It is never set for ordinary visitors. It expires after thirty days. | Strictly necessary |
hsm_oauth | This Website | Used for up to ten minutes while someone signs in to the private administration area with Google, to keep that sign-in secure. It holds only random values and nothing about you. It is set only when someone starts to sign in to the private administration area, and never by ordinary use of the Website. | Strictly necessary |
hsm_consent | This Website | Records the choice you made in the cookie strip, so that you are not asked again. It holds one word, either analytics or essential, and nothing else. It expires after 180 days. | Strictly necessary |
_ga, _ga_ followed by a property identifier | Google, for Google Analytics 4 | Set only after you choose "Accept analytics". They count visits and tell us which pages are read, and how people arrived. They do not tell us who you are by name. Google's usual duration for these is two years. | Analytics |
_clck, _clsk | Microsoft, for Microsoft Clarity | Set only after you choose "Accept analytics". They let us see how pages are used, such as how far down a page people read and where they click, so that we can improve the pages that are not working well. Microsoft's usual durations are one year and one day. | Analytics |
3.2 Being straight about the Wix platform scripts. Wix loads its own site-analytics and business-intelligence scripts on every site it hosts, and we cannot remove them one by one. What we can do, and do, is set the consent policy for this site before those scripts run: it is essential only for every visitor, whatever you choose in the cookie strip, so the advertising category is never enabled at all. We do not read, receive, or act on any report from those scripts, and we do not use them to measure visits or to profile anyone. Wix's own use of that information is governed by Wix's privacy and cookie notices. If you would rather block them outright, section 6 explains how.
3.3 We use no advertising pixel, no remarketing tag, and no social-media tracking pixel on this Website. The only outside tools we use at all are the two analytics tools named in the table, and neither of them runs until you have allowed it.
4. How we protect sensitive information
4.1 We are conscious that this Website concerns specialist exercise rehabilitation for men with prostate cancer and survivors. We do not advertise to individuals, or create or share advertising audiences, on the basis of health conditions, medical history, a cancer diagnosis, or any other special-category or sensitive personal data.
4.2 We do not build or share lists or audiences of people who have visited this Website (sometimes called "retargeting" or "custom audiences"), and nothing on this Website profiles you by reference to your health.
4.3 Any information that does identify you, however collected, is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and, where it concerns your health, only with your separate explicit consent as described there.
4.4 The two analytics tools in section 3 are subject to the same rule. Google Analytics is configured so that no advertising or personalised-advertising signal is enabled, and Microsoft Clarity is configured to mask the words on the page and anything you type, so it does not capture what you write into a form. Neither is joined to an enquiry, a booking, or anything else that names you.
4.5 A page address on this Website can itself suggest something about your health, because the pages are about prostate cancer. That is precisely why the analytics tools are off until you allow them, and why declining costs you nothing.
5. Cookies and your personal information
5.1 Some cookies collect information that, on its own or combined with other information, can identify you. Where that is the case, the information is personal information and our Privacy Policy applies to it, in addition to this policy.
5.2 In particular, the Privacy Policy explains the lawful basis on which we handle information collected through cookies, how long we keep it, the providers who process it, any transfers outside the United Kingdom and the safeguards that apply, and the rights you have.
6. How to control cookies
6.1 On this Website. The cookie strip appears the first time you visit. Whatever you choose, the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page brings it back, so you can change your mind at any time. Choosing "Essential only" stops any further analytics cookie being set. If you had accepted before and want the ones already stored removed as well, delete them in your browser as described in 6.2.
6.2 In your browser. You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you see the cookies stored, delete them individually or all at once, and block some or all cookies. The steps differ by browser; the "Help" or "Privacy" section of your browser explains how. Some browsers also let you block a named third party, which is how you would block the Wix platform scripts described in 3.2.
6.3 Please note that if you block or delete strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Website may not work properly. In particular, booking and payment may not complete.
7. Do Not Track and global privacy signals
7.1 Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" or similar automated privacy signal. There is no single agreed standard for how websites must respond to these signals, and this Website does not act on them automatically. It does not need to: no analytics cookie is set unless you have chosen "Accept analytics", and this Website runs no advertising cookie at all, whatever you choose.
8. Changes to this policy
8.1 We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we change the providers we use, add or remove a cookie, or to reflect changes in the law. The current version, with its effective date, is always available on the Website.
8.2 If we ever add a cookie in a category that is not on this page, an advertising cookie for instance, we will update this policy and add that category to the cookie strip before the cookie is set, so that you choose first. We will not set a new non-essential cookie on the strength of a policy change alone.
8.3 This policy is effective from 1 October 2026.
